The district of Kleve is located in north-west Germany on the border with the Netherlands. Its position on the Rhine-Ruhr railway line and its immediate proximity to important European conurbations create the best location conditions for entrepreneurial activities: The district of Kleve borders the Ruhr area to the south, while the expanding industrial hub centre of Arnhem-Nijmegen and the logistics conurbation around Venlo are located on the other side of the Dutch border. With the A3, A40 and A57 motorways, the industrial estates in the Kleve district are connected to three of Europe's most important main transport axes and guarantee smooth transport routes in all directions across Europe.
Airport Weeze
Weeze Airport started air traffic in 2003 and has risen to become the third largest airport in North Rhine-Westphalia within just a few years. The Euregional centre for air traffic, logistics and industry is growing on the former British military airport. A total area of 615 hectares and an internationally orientated airport infrastructure open up a strong economic future.
Port Emmerich am Rhein
The intermodal port of Emmerich, the Rhine-Waal Terminal, was one of the first to open in Germany. Today, scheduled rail and ship shuttle connections link Emmerich am Rhein with Rotterdam and Antwerp. As an important transhipment centre on the Rhine, this port plays a central role in regional transport and trade. Thanks to its strategic location, the port is an important hub in European freight transport. This not only contributes to the economic development of Emmerich, but also strengthens cross-border trade relations and provides a large number of jobs.
